The Light at the End of the Tornado
Matt’s story is one of my favorites, and also one of the scariest. As a new Nashville transplant, Matt braved the worst of the March 2020 tornado in his Germantown apartment. It swept right through his building, shattering the glass window in his 1 bedroom apartment and waking him up to terror. Matt’s whole world was *literally* twisted upside down, but we’re so very glad that he stuck around to make Nashville home! We felt lucky to have the opportunity to share the bright side of Nashville with Matt and help him plant roots in Music City. Top of his wish list were walkability to restaurants and hot spots in East Nashville, space for guests, and a basement tornado shelter space. The peace of mind would be hard to find, as not many Nashville homes have basements, but worth fighting to find. Well, we found it! And right in the heart of where he wanted to be! Matt lives right in Lockeland Springs, just blocks from Shelby Park and Frothy Monkey! The spacious home has tall ceilings, a fabulous backyard for entertaining, plenty of rooms for out-of-town visitors, and a basement garage! Welcome home Matt, Nashville is so happy to have you!
“Today is a great day. After the tornado came through Nashville (2 months ago), I wasn’t sure if I’d want to stay…it really got to me. And then followed by the pandemic, I was again, shaken. But, these two events are not commonplace. I’m so thankful to my sounding board of close friends that helped me through the process. I just closed on this home, and I can’t wait to have visitors. I can’t thank @jesslourandolph and @amyschols enough, for walking me through countless homes.
@jordynelrodschumm – thank you for introducing me to Jessica! And @magnoliatitle for doing an incredible job closing. Come visit Nashville (when the pandemic calms down) and stay a while” -Matt
